Project Overview:
A superb example of handcrafted construction from the 1930’s, the office of the president at The University of Texas illuminates honor and character. As with all things, time and everyday use took its toll on the office and the need for restoration arose, Alpha was tasked with restoring the office by using green concepts, hand craftsmanship and no electric power tools. A major challenge of the project was to locate wood that was more or less a perfect match to the existing wood. The project was located within a heavily populated university facility, so it was extremely important that all faculty, staff, students and visitors be allowed to carry on with their daily activities with as few interruptions as possible.
